The Intention
With this documentary, we would like to show an underexposed side of globalization.
In Europe, the term of this comprehensive social-historical development is negatively characterized.
But globalization is not only created and directed by multinational groups of companies acting worldwide, but always and increasingly by single and independent individuals. Our protagonist Olivier is one of these individuals who are consciously or unconsciously part of this worldwide movement as a single particle.Without totally missing out the political dimension we are going to try to approach the global phenomenon from Oliviers personal point of view.
In this, one human being throws the bridge between home and foreign parts, individuality and mass movement and finally between Europe and China. His very personal preference of the Chinese traditional opera draws Olivier in this country. He makes it a part of his life concept and thus goes deeply into the cultural sphere of China.
